If they have sex, state laws vary from it being 1st degree to 3rd degree sexual assault. Different countries have different legislation regarding most things.
i am 16 years old and currently live with my mother and very much considering emancipation.
in court orders it says i can't date a certain guy(he is 20) until i am 18.
but that is not why i am here.are just friends for now.my question.. how would they get him put in jail just for me and him hanging out or talking on the phone?
My question involves criminal law for the state of: TX I am 14, turning 15 in a few days, and I'm wanting to date a guy who is 17, turning 18 in a little over 3 months. He only goes to prison for years instead of decades.
When I turn 15 he will still be 17 and I know the law will not apply then but when he turns 18 in June can he be charged with anything if we have sex??? The romeo exception takes statutory rape off the table, but there are still a host of other charges.
There are no laws regulating who can date whom in the United States.
I have talked to my mom about it, and shes okay with it because she knows about our relationship and how i feel about him. No parent can take the illegal, and suddenly make it legal by simply "not minding".
I have said little to my dad about it because he's still in the stage of accepting the fact that his little girl is growing up. What either or both of your parents think is irrelevent.
The minor must be at the age of consent for sexual contact to take place, which varies from state-to-state but is commonly 16.
Some states have added provisions that for adults 21 and over increase the crime from a misdemeanour's to a felony.
